Pick your movie of the week: 80’s! (Mar 31- Apr 6 /19)

At trivia night here in Sussex my team won a prize for guessing the #1 movie of the 1990’s based on viewer’s favourites: The Shawshank Redemption (1994). This was from IMDb’s top 250, a list based solely on what regular viewers like you and rate movies.Shawshank has sat at #1 since at least 2008, though likely longer.

The highest rated 80’s movie on the IMDb top 250 doesn’t actually make the top ten. The first one shows up at #13. which one of the following do you believe made that #13 spot? Again, this is NOT based on box office haul, DVD sales, or directors/critics’ picks. This is based on asking everyday people like you and me how high they rate these movies. Essentially, which one has the best batting average?

Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

Back to the Future (1985)
