Penn State hosts Oregon to open their Big Ten conference schedule in a battle between two highly ranked teams.
Penn State was on a bye week last week. The last game they played was a 52-6 win over Villanova on September 13th, 2025. They are 3-0 this season with a 3-0 home record. This is the last of a four-game homestand to open the season though.
Oregon is 4-0 to begin the season. They defeated Oregon State 41-7 in their contest last weekend.
Penn State holds the series lead 3-2, however the last time these two teams played Oregon defeated them 45-37 in the 2024 Big Ten championship game.
Oregon will have a tough test against a mighty Penn State defense. They rank third in the country in scoring defense, third in red zone defense, ninth in total defense and 12th in passing defense. Prior to a last play touchdown to Villanova, they hadn’t allowed a point in seven straight quarters.
That passing defense will be tested though. Oregon quarterback Dante Moore is coming off a 305 yard and four touchdown performance against Oregon State, where he set his career-high for touchdowns. Overall, the Ducks are averaging over 50 points per game bringing a strong offense into this prime-time matchup.
The also bring in a 10-0 Big Ten conference record into the contest, as they haven’t lost a conference game sense joining the Big Ten. Can Penn State deliver that first blemish to their record?
According to ESPN Penn State holds a 51. 1 percent chance to win the game. I agree and pick Penn State to win.
College Gameday is heading to this game as well. This is the 12th time that Penn State has hosted and is 5-6 in those contests. The last time Penn State hosted was in 2024 against Ohio State, a 20-13 loss. Penn State is also hosting a white out for this game. Penn State is 11-6 in white out games.
Oregon will be donning some white cleats called Mummy duck that glow in the dark. So, they should be looking sharp heading into this big time matchup.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p. m. and you won’t want to miss it.
