Penn State heads to UCLA for a Big Ten battle this weekend. Let’s preview the action.

Penn State comes into this matchup 3-1, 0-1 in the Big Ten and ranked 6th/7th in the polls. This was a drop from the number three ranking after a 30-24 double overtime loss to then number six ranked Oregon last week.

Drew Allar threw for 137 yards and two touchdowns in the loss but became the fifth Nittany Lion to go over 7,000 passing yards in a career. Kaytron Allen rushed for a touchdown in the loss, but as scored a touchdown in each of the opening four contests for Penn State. He also ranks 11th in the country in yards per carry average at 7.11. UCLA should have its hands full with a good Penn State offense.

UCLA is 0-4 and 0-1 in the Big Ten heading into this matchup. They lost their last game 17-14 to Northwestern. Nico Iamaleava threw for 180 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 65 yards in the losing effort. Limiting his dual-threat ability could be key to a Penn State victory.

This is the eighth time the two teams have met with UCLA having a 4-3 series lead. However, Penn State won the last meeting between the two last season 27-11.

This one probably won’t be close. ESPN is giving Penn State a 93% chance of victory. I think that Penn State will rebound from their loss and win this one easily.

Kickoff is at 3:30 pm.
