Penn State Football 11/9/24 Against Washington Preview
S. Samek
After a tough loss to Ohio State, Penn State looks to rebound this week. Let’s preview their next matchup for this week.
After the 20-13 loss to Ohio State, Penn State fell to number six/seven in the polls. This is down three spots in the AP Poll and four spots in the coaches poll.
This weeks matchup is against Washington. The 2023 national title runners-up have had a bit of a down year so far. They are 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the Big Ten. Last game out they defeated USC 26-21 though. They are also 1-1 against the top 25 with a win against Michigan when they were ranked and a loss to Indiana.
However, they are 0-3 on the road as they head into Beaver Stadium on Saturday. Penn State sports a 4-1 home mark this season.
This is the fourth time the two teams have met with the last time being in the 2017 Fiesta Bowl. Penn State won that game 35-28. However, the last time the two met in a regular season game was 1921. Though with Washington joining the Big Ten this year we should see this matchup on a regular basis moving forward. As this marks their initial clash as conference foes.
I think Penn state avoids the letdown and keeps Washington from getting to six wins. Penn State wins 28-17.
