Pals, Pampering And Pizza

Me, Delle, and 2 other barkadas were supposed to go out of town for the day, but one thing led to another and we decided to just hang out and indulge in a day of pampering.  So we went to High Street and started the whole thing off with lunch at Stock Market.  Given my cholesterol condition, I opted to just have the fish dish.

Then after walking around to burn off some of the stuff we ate before we’re kneaded like dough for our massages, we proceeded to The Spa (thanks for the discount Richard!) for some serious kick-ass relaxation.  We opted to have our treatments in their biggest room, good for groups, the Loft.

When we got inside, we were squealing with delight because it was pretty big, and we had the place to ourselves until it was time to do or massages and scrubs and stuff.  All 4 of us were able to squeeze into the jacuzzi-ish tub of hot sudsy water.

After a shower in the steam room (yup, that combo actually works!) we all proceeded to the 2nd floor for our treatments.  I opted to get a facial and their newest offering, the acupressure thingamabob.  Oh wow, given that I’ve been getting headaches the past couple of weeks, that massage was INCREDIBLE.  Not for the weak at heart, it’s actually more therapeutical than relaxing.  It was actually quite painful at times, but I swear, if you’re all stressed, and your muscles are all in tight knots, this is the one for you!  I was thinking, if I wasn’t in so much pain, I might not have enjoyed the massage as much.  But the therapist (Diane?) was like some healer, who applied the right amount of pressure at the exact points that needed it.  When she hits the right spot, it’s a lightning bolt of pain/pleasure that relieved me of so much pent up pressure in my muscles or joints, or nerves, or whichever part hurts.  By the end of the hour, I felt like I worked out for hours.  I didn’t even have the strength to get up after.  But I swear, it’s almost as if she knew exactly where all the pain points were!

After we were all done, we were all refreshed, sleepy and starving!  So we decided to go all out with our day of pampering, so we decided to finally check out the supposed superior rolled pizza, the one everyone’s telling us that’s better than Yellow Cab’s Dear Darla, the one in Focaccia in A Venue.

Boy, was it good!  The crust was MUCH thinner than the Yellow Cab version, and everything was subtler and more authentic.  We still loaded up on the arugula and alfalfa sprouts, but the one thing that this version lacked was the chili oil that the Dear Darla came with.  Focaccia’s pizza + Yellow Cab’s chili oil = winning combo!  We ended up wolfing down 2 pizzas in record time.

Now we just need to try the supposed ultimate rolled pizza, the one in Clark!  So what started out as a foiled perfectly planned outing, ended up as a surprisingly good day, with pals, pampering, and pizza.  Mondays don’t get any better than this!
