Pair of Pittsburgh Pirates Top 30 Prospects named to team of the week for 7/7/25

Two Pittsburgh Pirates prospects were named to the team of the week today.

Pitcher Khristan Curtis was named the South Atlantic League pitcher of the week. Curtis pitched six scoreless innings and struck out 10 batters as the starting pitcher in the Greensboro Grasshoppers perfect game against the Aberdeen IronBirds on July 4th, 2025. This is his first time winning a pitcher of the week award in the South Atlantic League.

Outfielder Edward Florentino was named the Florida State League player of the week. He went 8 for 23 giving him a .348 batting average with three home runs and six RBI during the week. He also had three doubles and three stolen bases. He hit two home runs in a game on Sunday July 6th, 2025, for his first career multi home run game. He is the 23rd ranked Pirates prospect.

It is his first Florida State League Player of the week award. He also won the FCL player of the week award for 6/15/25 prior to his promotion to Bradenton.

It’s good to see a pair of top 30 prospects have strong preferences and win player of the week awards. Hopefully they can keep up the momentum and keep winning some more awards this season.
