P.J Hilson Named SAL Player of the Week 9/2/24

The Greensboro Grasshoppers had another player recognized as South Atlantic League Player of the week.

P.J Hilson was named SAL player of the week. His efforts included a .375 batting average, two home runs and five RBI and an OPS of 1.110.

He can also flash the glove too as show in this play that was named the Grasshoppers play of the month for August.

Hilson isn’t ranked in the top 30 Pirates prospects. In 81 games with Greensboro, he is hitting .266 with 12 home runs and 43 RBI. He’s also stolen 14 bases on 17 attempts.

Hilson seems to be raking at the right time, as the Grasshoppers gear up for the SAL playoffs, after winning the first half. Good to see another Pirates Prospect earn player of the week.
