One Goal for 2014: A Turning Point

I gave myself five years to forge a career in performance analysis (PA).  I am about three and a half years in and I feel if nothing substantial happens in the summer (end of the fourth year), I may have to consider PA as something I do on the side and turn to my back-up career plans.  This is because I can’t face doing what I’m doing now for next season (30+ voluntary hours) with no real prospect of getting paid regularly.  A problem is I’m not looking for opportunities.  When I did look for opportunities over the summer, I had a Millfield School PA Intern interview, a Teaching Assistant interview and a job as the Volleyball Coach at City London University.  So I have to recommit myself to finding opportunities and thus I have one goal for the first half of 2014:

While stating this goal is not really worthy of a blog post in itself, I feel by making this statement, it will hold me accountable and I will follow through.  It will impinge on my work with Polonia and Super 8s Statistics but I will just have to make the extra time for it.  Hopefully by the end of the summer, with my hard work and passion, I was able to make something substantial happen.
