The Emory and Henry College Wasps are members of the South Atlantic Conference of NCAA Division II and the private liberal arts college is located in the small town of Emory, Virginia.

“The small, private school atmosphere was something I was used to,” said Daly of his college decision. “Coach Newsome and Coach Buzzo really made me feel that they believe in me. I feel wanted there and I think I can learn a lot from them.”
Daly became a three-time first-team all conference selection in his career and recorded 103 tackles and rushed for 1,006 yards in his senior season. Daly also scored the game-winning touchdown in triple overtime against Steel Valley. This touchdown was a significant one not just because it won the game, but it showcased the growth of a team who lost to Steel Valley by over 60 points in the previous season. “Our group stuck together even though we had four different head coaches in my four years playing. The program continues to be in a rebuilding stage, but I feel proud that my teammates and I helped to start this rebuild and make an impact.”

Daly and his twin sister Mallory, a University at Buffalo women’s basketball commit, will soon be second-generation Seton LaSalle graduates. This is not just meaningful to him because of the family lineage, but also because of the sacrifice his mom has made to give him and his sister the opportunity to attend the school and make friends and memories that will last a lifetime.
The path to reach this exciting stage in life has been far from smooth for Daly, but the hard work and perseverance is proving to be worth it. The edge he carries with him sometimes extends beyond the gridiron and he hopes that it will help him build a great life in his young adulthood. He intended to study finance in college and looks forward to having a family of his own one day and hopefully being in a position where he can help people who are in need.
Congratulations on your commitment to Emory and Henry and best wishes for a great rest of your senior year, O’Malley!
