NWC Cancels Fall Season

Can the last conference or school to decide to cancel the fall volleyball season make sure they turn the lights off?

The Northwest Conference has decided to cancel the fall volleyball season and support the efforts to move the season to the spring. What’s interesting about this announcement was that there were some sports (cross country, golf and tennis) that will be permitted to play this fall.

I think with the NCAA news from yesterday, any holdouts will probably quickly move to canceling the season for NCAA defined high risk sports (which includes volleyball). I actually held out some hope for the NWC prior to yesterday’s news but it wasn’t to be.

The only silver lining to the cancellation of the fall season is that I can travel more. Wait. Dang! There are no silver linings!!!!!!

My heart goes out to the northwest this afternoon. Hopefully there will be a spring season. Side note, we were planning on following Southwestern to Puget Sound this September before everything went sideways. So many memories lost for everyone.
