Noah Movie: Fact or Fable?
The Thursday feature of the Worldly Saints blog will pull a current event and look at it from the perspective of a Christian world view. There is no guarantee we will comment on the most “popular” or “biggest story” out there, but we will take a story that is worth considering.
I have not seen the Noah movie yet. I am sure at some point in my life I will see it – whether in the near future or on Netflix on day.
Anyway, I have most certainly been following the blogosphere on the depiction of this O.T. saint. Some Christians are all freaked out about biblical inconsistencies. Some Christians are just thankful for another religious movie that gives them an opportunity to talk about the Lord. Other Christians have no opinion on the matter.
No matter what your stance is on “Bible movies” like this one, I would encourage you to do two things before you write your own review or share your own opinion on the movie.
Watch the movie.
Read this article explaining the story the director is attempting to tell. If you don’t know the story the director is trying to tell, you might end up drawing a number of erroneous conclusions.
The article I have linked is the most helpful I have come across and is the reason that when the time comes for me to see the movie, I am not going to be the person who loses sleep over the depiction of Noah in this movie.
(ARTICLE SPOILER – The movie is not supposed to be a re-telling of the biblical account.)
