No regional ranking predictions this week

I won’t do rankings predictions this time, but I’m sure the Midwest and/or Central committees will give me something to quibble about this week. To be fair, the Central committee and I disagreed on only two teams, accounting for one spot. The Midwest made one huge mistake in my opinion (and according to the facts). Here were my week 1 projectionsHere’s what the committees said And to recap for the final time, here were my original beefs with the first rankings.

• UW-Whitewater: 18-4 in-region, .589 SOS, 5-4 vs. in-region regionally ranked teams, lost at home to Oshkosh • UW Oshkosh: 18-4 in-region, .589 SOS, 5-3 vs. in-region regionally ranked teams, won at Whitewater My verdict: UWO No. 2; UWW No. 3 NCAA verdict: UWW No. 2; UWO No. 4 Seriously?

• Chicago: 20-6 in-region, .563 SOS, 3-5 vs. in-region regionally ranked teams, DNP Platteville • UW-Platteville: 16-3 in-region, .557 SOS, 1-3 vs. in-region regionally ranked teams, DNP Chicago My verdict: UWP No. 5; UC No. 6 NCAA verdict: UC No. 6; UWP No. 5 Looking back, I think the Midwest committee nailed this one. But UWP better be ahead of UC this week

• St. Thomas: 20-2 in-region, .605 SOS, 6-2 vs. in-region regionally ranked teams, lost at home to St. Olaf • St. Olaf: 23-2 in-region, .550 SOS, vs. 5-1 in-region regionally ranked teams, won at St. Thomas My verdict: SOC No. 2; UST No. 3 NCAA verdict: UST No. 2; SOC No. 3 I admit that it’s a hung jury case, but I think I was correct. Kudos all around, Central committee
