Director: Gene Stupnitsky

Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Andrew Barth Feldman, Laura Benanti

On the brink of losing her home, Maddie finds an intriguing job listing: helicopter parents looking for someone to bring their introverted 19-year-old son out of his shell before college. She has one summer to make him a man or die trying.

Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) doesn’t pay her taxes, so her car is being confiscated. Being an Uber driver, that’s a big deal! She’ll do anything to save her house, which she inherited from her mother. And then she sees an advert in the paper a wealthy family is offering a car as reward to the girl who can bring their 19-year old reclusive son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) “out of his shell” before he goes to college.

So, basically this wealthy family is paying a girl to date their son!! I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at this preposterous premise. Yup, its finally happening; Hollywood is definitely running out of original ideas. What kind of a silly premise is this??

And if you’re like me thinking this is absurd, just wait until you see the movie. If this was meant to be a romantic comedy, I didn’t find it the least bit romantic. There’s no chemistry between the characters (or the actors for that matter), making it completely unbelievable.

Yeah, there were a few funny moments here and there, but in general this actually is just stupidity from beginning to end. Not stupid as in slapstick; stupid as in incomprehensible! This is so not my kind of movie. Enough said.

‘No Hard Feelings’ earned nearly $87 million on a budget of $45 million.

Would I watch it again? No.
