New Costco Items for December 2025: A Random Assortment
Costco constantly introduces new items. I have complained about the discontinued items (It’s Gone? Discontinued Products). However, because Costco sells a limited number of items (Freedom of or from choice?), in order to add more items, discontinuation is necessary in order to add new items. I came across some highlighted new items for December. I also looked at the list of new items on the website. I like balance so I chose 10 items to match the 10 from the list I found.
10 New Items From an Online List
1. Candle Gift Set
One new item introduced in December is this set of 12 one-ounce candles. They come in Advent Calendars and contain winter themed scents (Woodland Bluebell; Cashmere Ridge; Caramel Macchiato; Hearthstone; Juniper Mint; Candied Cinnamon; Birch & Silver Spruce; Cedar Wood & Cinnamon; Sweet Orange Spice Tea; Mistletoe Martini; Cranberry Mimosa; Vanilla Hot Toddy).
I would not buy an Advent Calendar and I don’t use many scented candles. Although I used to like the idea of scented candles (and gave and was given many for birthdays in high school), I find them too strong now. I do think that a few of these sound good, as I like the smells of cinnamon, mint, and vanilla.
2. Koia Plant-Protein Nutrition Shakes
A new option in the nutrition section this month are these vanilla nutrition shakes. They are sold in packages of 18 11-ounce bottles. The shakes are dairy and soy free, low in sugar, and high in protein, fiber, and 21 vitamins and minerals.
I have to look at the bottles in the store to check their kosher certification, as the website says they are kosher but I cannot find the certifying organization. I hope i can buy them. My vanilla protein milk was just discontinued (for some reason Fairlife stopped producing the vanilla version of this delicious milk (Product Review: Fairlife Nutrition Plan Chocolate Milk)). I am eager to find a vanilla protein drink that i can use as a substitute. I like to alternate between chocolate and vanilla. I don’t like Boost or Ensure, as they are extremely sweet. Many healthier nutrition drinks are expensive. However, Costco is typically a much better deal than other stores.
3. Acne Patches
These patches designed to reduce acne contain salicylic acid, aloe vera, retinol, and hydrocolloid dressing. They can be worn alone or under makeup and are recommended to be kept on for six hours.
Fortunately, I think acne is no longer a problem for me. I would have liked these in high school, college, and the few years after college.
4. Vicks VapoShower Max Vapors Steam Tablets
A new item designed to enhance the shower experience are these tablets. They are sold in packages of eight tablets to put on the shower floor. They release non-medicated scents of eucalyptus and menthol for a soothing effect.
I don’t have a good sense of what these add to the shower. I won’t buy them but I imagine they may make a shower extra luxurious .
5. Festive Plates and Napkins
These plate and napkin sets are sold for two winter holidays. One variety is decorated with holiday trees and the other with champagne glasses. Each set contains 50 12-inch by 10-inch paper plates, 50 7-inch paper plates and 100 matching three-ply napkins.
I have no need for these. I have mixed feelings about decorated plates and napkins. They do add some fun to the celebration and it was always fun to buy them for birthday party themes. However, they are more expensive than plain white plates and napkins.
6. Joyburst Hydration Electrolytes Drink
These new drinks are sold in variety packs (peach; watermelon; strawberry lemonade) of 18 16.9-ounce bottles. The beverages are sugar-free and contain vitamin B12, magnesium, and other vitamins and minerals.
Costco sells a few varieties of electrolyte products. The ones I have seen the most are the ones in which the electrolytes are in a packet and then added to water. I am unlikely to buy any of them but I’d prefer these drinks that are already mixed. I have just never liked the idea of adding powder to water (except hot chocolate). Similarly, I prefer to buy nutrition drinks rather than buy protein powder to add to liquid.
7. Toblerone Honey & Almond Nougat Truffles
These truffles are sold in 17.4-ounce packages and contain milk chocolate, honey, and almond nougat.
I have mentioned before that I prefer dark chocolate to milk chocolate. The exception is very creamy milk chocolate. I have only had Toblerone once and don’t remember it too well but I imagine that it is high quality. However, I don’t like too much “stuff” in my chocolate and have no interest in honey or nougat. However, for people interested in more creative candy, this treat may be a good addition to the options.
8. Nellie’s Auto Dishwasher Cubes
These unscented dishwasher detergent cubes are PVA- and plastic-free. Packages contain 128 cubes.
I’m pretty satisfied with the dishwasher cubes we use but I’d try these if one a discount.
9. Sweet Penny Holiday Peppermint Pretzel Assortment
These peppermint coated pretzels are pretzels are sold in a variety pack of 30 pretzels (peppermint dark chocolate; peppermint white chocolate).
I don’t like chocolate covered pretzels but these treats are extremely pretty. Traditional pretzel twists are enrobed in chocolate coating and then sprinkled with colorful candy pieces.
10. Kirkland Signature Ultra Fresh In-Wash Laundry Scent Boosters
These HE compatible laundry scent boosters are sold in 45.9-ounce bottles.
I am pleased with my laundry materials but I know others have different preferences regarding laundry.
Ten New items Fom Me
I went through the new items and selects range of items, some of which I am interested in, others that I would like by would not buy and others that I just think highlight he ranted of items that Costco sells (consistent with some of the very random purchases )
1. Tommy Hilfiger Ladies’ Lightweight Windbreaker
These windbreakers come in two colors (blue; white) and six sizes (X-Small; Small; Medium; Large; X-Large; XX-Large). They have hoods and two pockets.
I am very interested in these windbreakers. Tommy Hilfiger makes high quality products and I like windbreakers because they are a good jacket option the fall and doing. Looking at the picture, the jackets also appear to be an ideal length (i.e., not too long or too short).
2. Evolution® Spas Sedona™ 4-5 person 50-jet Spa
These spas are 91” W x 79” L x 36” H and contain a Hot tub, a Spa cover, Spa steps, a Spa filter, and two Headrests. The spa can hold 325 USG and weighs 825 lb.dry and 3,523 lb. With water. The spa contains two pumps that delivers hydrotherapy through 50 steel jets. The spa is designed to be energy efficient.
I would never buy one but I would love to have my own hot tub.
3. Baggallini Calais Crossbody Bag
Another new item in December is this crossbody bag. It is made of lightweight nylon and contains a 52-inch adjustable strap. The inside of the bag contains pockets, and it also contains a pocket for cell phones to make it easy to have access to the phone.
I really like crossbody bags. They look nice, can generally hold a fair amount, and give the security of being able to keep an eye on the bag when out in public. However, for carrying a lot of items and/or heavier items, I prefer a backpack. I think it is funny to remember that now pockets for cell phones are taken for granted whereas only about 20-25 years ago, they were not an item that everyone owned.
4. Kirkland Signature Seal Top Freezer Bags
These are the Kirkland version of Ziploc bags. Costco sells both 1.2-Gallon Bags (192 total bags) and Quart Bags (264 total bags). The bags are BPA free.
I remember playing a “game” in which we would try to name items that we refer to by the brand rather than the company (e.g., Q-Tips; Kleenex). I realized while writing this post that Ziploc fits the category as well. We tend to buy the large packs of these bags when on discount. I imagine we will buy these new Kirkland bags now too.
5. Rechargeable Heavy Duty Plus Fire Extinguisher
This rechargeable fire safety item is made of metal and contains a metal valve and trigger. It can fight wood, paper, trash, plastic, gasoline, oil, and electrical-equipment fires. The extinguisher includes a mounting bracket, a pressure gauge, and a metal pull pin with a safety seal to help deter accidental discharges and discourage tampering.
I selected this item because it seems so random. I never think about buying a fire extinguisher and don’t think I have ever seen one for purchase in a store. I don’t think I’d ever use a fire extinguisher unless absolutely necessary, after my one experience with one in college. A friend and I were living in an apartment over the summer and I was vacuuming. I don’t know if the vacuum was old or if there was something caught in it but it started smoking. My roommate panicked and used the extinguisher. Wow, did it make a mess. White powder everywhere!
6. Arbor Element Decon Snowboard
Available in time for prime snowboarding season, these pre waxed 154 centimeter snowboards have directional twin system rockers and a medium flex rating. The board is not sold with bindings.
I skied more weekends growing up but never tried snowboarding. I am surprised by this item being sold at Costco for a few reasons. First, although Costco limits the variety of any one item (Freedom of or from choice?), it seems that people are pretty particular about sporting equipment and are likely to want to select their board from a wider selection. Second, starting to carry a snowboard (i.e., a winter item) is inconsistent with the seasonal pattern that Costco typically uses.
7. Smoked Sockeye Salmon Gift Box
Sold in a three-pack of six-ounce pieces of Wild Caught Alaskan Salmon, this gift comes in a wooden box. The salmon costs $59.99, is Non-GMO Verified, Kosher, and does not require refrigeration.
As is clear from my reviews, it is clear that I love salmon (Product Review: Foppen Hot Smoked Salmon); (Product Review: Kirkland frozen Atlantic salmon); (Product Review:Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon)). However, although it may make a pretty gift, the idea of spending $20 per piece is troubling. I’d much prefer to buy the same size pieces of Foppen salmon (Product Review: Foppen Hot Smoked Salmon). In addition, I do wonder why this fish does not need refrigeration?
8. Copper Moon Stargazer Blend, Ground Coffee
This coffee comes packages containing six 12-ounce bags. This 100% Premium Arabica Coffee Blend is medium roasted and sustainably sourced. Apparently, the flavor tastes of toasted almond, caramel, and chocolate. It is gluten Free, non-GMO, allergen free and kosher.
Given the limited variety of any item at Costco ( of or from choice?), I am constantly surprised by how many varieties of coffee it sells. However, I guess it is a popular enough item with people having specific preferences that it makes sense to provide a range of options.
9.Yardline Palmetto 16’ x 8’ Wood Shed
This 16 foot x 8 foot shed comes with pre-cut materials and is a “do it yourself” model. There are double doors, a storage shelf, and windows.
I realized that this item is designed to be a storage shed. However, I would have loved one as a playhouse growing up. My house had a very small playhouse in the backyard and it was always a fun place to go to read or play with friends. (Unfortunately, we discovered cigarettes and trash in there from older kids who must have snuck in and the stairs began rotting). This shed looks perfect for decorating, adding curtains and a little table, and providing a good escape for play
10. Ferrara’s Bakery New York Cheesecake
This cheesecake, made by a bakery in New York’s Little Italy, is sold in a two-pack of eight-inch cakes. Each cake serves 10-12 people and the two-pack costs $99.99. The cheesecake is made from Philadelphia cream cheese and sour cream and has a graham cracker crust. The cakes can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 6 months.
I have written about cheesecake multiple times and it is a dessert I like very much. I tend to prefer New York style cheesecake. I am surprised to see that this bakery is in Little Italy, as I don’t associate cheesecake with Italian food. I was surprised to see that the company is open about the ingredients used, as I am used to bakeries having “secret recipes”. It is also surprising to see such a simple recipe and that they use Philadelphia cream cheese rather than a fancier blend. The price is pretty shocking to me, although I know that bakeries can be quite expensive. However, eight inches is pretty small (by the way, I know cheesecake is dense, but how could one get 12 slices from a cake this size?). At $50 per cake, Why not just get the huge Costco cheesecake or the Junior’s cheesecake also sold at Costco?
What do you think about this assortment of new items sold at Costco this December? Any of interest?
