New Blogging Schedule
Now that my life is starting to level out a bit and I am getting into more of a routine with my new position as Teaching Pastor at Wichita Bible Church, I have decided to come up with a new, more frequent blogging schedule. Starting tomorrow, I will attempt to incorporate more blogging throughout the week – and keep the previous traditional blogging.
The schedule will look like this:
MONDAYS – I will continue to post a blog under the tagline “Don’t Waste Your Sports.” This is when I take a recent news items from the world of sports and write about it from a Christian perspective. At times I critique an athlete who is wasting his sports; others times I highlight a Christian athlete who is making his faith known; and other times I simply draw spiritual lessons from something in the world of sports.
TUESDAYS – On average I read about one book per week – which is nothing compared to my Dad who reads a book a day. However, because I do read a decent amount, I want to spend Tuesdays blogging about something I read recently. Perhaps I will contribute a book review or book recommendation. Perhaps I will talk about a concept that really provoked me. Perhaps I will offer another perspective from something I read. This day will be about extra-biblical books.
WEDNESDAYS – I will continue something I have been doing in recent months by offering a Scriptural meditation. My desire on this day will be to simply write a brief devotional on a truth straight from the Bible.
THURSDAYS – A new feature to my blog will be to write about a current events. There are so many others in the blogosphere who do a better job of commenting on future events from a Christian perspective (e.g., Albert Mohler, Gene Veith, my Dad), but I will attempt to join their ranks. I may not always take something from the front page of the newspaper, but these days will be reserved for thinking about the significance of a current event.
FRIDAYS – No words from me on this day. I will simply share a quote from another author. Sometimes they will be brief; sometimes they will be lengthy. I may pull a quote from a book I have been reading or read recently. I may go into my quote archives and pull something else.
SATURDAYS – I will continue the tradition of blogging under the headline of “Just In Case You Missed It.” This is when I give some recent highlights on the web that are worth your reading or viewing. It includes blogs, YouTube videos, articles, pictures, etc.
