Neleh Nogay Has Senior Year to Remember at Neshannock

Neleh Nogay was already a part of one state title in her senior season on the hardwood. Now, she and the Neshannock Lancers added another with a PIAA state title game win in softball to cap off an undefeated season

“The respect for each other and hard work of this class makes our group so special,” said Nogay about the Neshannock Class of 2022. It’s hard to argue otherwise.

Nogay is a three-sport star, leaving a lasting legacy in basketball, softball, and in track and field. With various options available post high school to her, she narrowed it down to college softball and to attend Fordham University, a school with elite academics on top of a Division I athletic department. Her success is bigger than sports as she intends to major in chemistry and head to medical school one day.

So far in her athletic career, she’s led Neshannock to a state title victory as a senior in basketball, a runner-up in the state finish as a junior, tabbed a selection as the KDKA 2A Player of the Year in basketball, holds the school record in the 100m and 200m dash, was a First-Team All-State selection in softball last season, and added a state title victory last week in softball.

So far, her favorite moment from sports was winning the state title game in basketball earlier this year. While it was the end of her basketball career, it was a realization of all the hard work of one of the state’s most elite girls’ basketball traditions.

Going out on a note like this to cap an incredible high school career will hopefully bring some momentum and confidence into her fall ball season in college. But, outside of her high school experience, the Ohio Outlaws travel softball program and Silver Creek softball also deserve credit for helping her become the player she is today.

Just a few short weeks away from move in day, it’s important to truly captivate what she was able to accomplish during one impressive senior season and high school career overall. Congratulations on all you’ve accomplished so far, Neleh! Best of luck on what lies ahead for you 🏀 🏃🏽‍♀️🥎 👩🏽‍⚕️🥇
