NCAA Shrugs Shoulders

The NCAA put out a release that says basically nothing about whether they will cancel the fall championships. In fairness, this isn’t an easy decision but at some levels it really is. The Board of Governors decided to continue the discussion in August. So, look away. Nothing to see here.

This non-decision keeps hope alive for the rest of the programs that have not cancelled the fall season. Of course, right now, it appears the West Regional will consist of the top 8 teams from the ASC as they are the only conference that hasn’t made a decision on playing, yet. (Since the ASC is not allowed to have at-large bids, based on recent history, I’m unsure how this will be pulled off.) If things do get better quickly and the NCAA decides to hold on to the championship then we may see schools jump back in while not playing an official conference schedule. For now…who knows. Enjoy your Friday and your weekend and stay safe!
