This is my Mahni Mahnster, she is now fourteen and I just don’t understand how we got here already. This girl? The baby sous chef of my former blogging life?

I mean, she drives now. Like, you guys SHE DRIVES A REAL GODDAMN ACTUAL CAR. She has a sparkling, well managed social (media) life. She juggles sports and after-school activities and all that shit, like she does actual grown teenager stuff! And she’s very mature, like diplomatic and kind-hearted and can navigate those somewhat awkward conversations and I swear her emotional IQ is already at a point that took me about 28 years to figure out.  WHO ARE YOU, CHILD.

Anyway I sound like an old lady with all that so I’ll stop (I still get fashion and have not yet gotten my mid-life-crisis tattoo I AM YOUNG). But truly, she never stops impressing and surprising me, this lovely girl.

Also she looks more and more like my Beah the older she gets.

Every year when I visit in the fall we sneak off for a few minutes for a photo shoot, and this year was no different. It’s nice to have a moment alone to try to figure out this nugget.

So, enjoy. A post full of Mahni, or as we used to say on my old, OLD food blog years and years ago: here is the one where Mahni Takes Over.

We found this colorful patch on a wall and got situated to take pictures, and then some people wandered over and stood to watch. And then we got a little embarrassed, ha. So this is all we have from that.

We always stop at this pine-y shrubs and talk about “do we really want to do the shrub pictures again this year?” but inevitably we shoot a few off anyway, because they are just bushy and green enough to give a good backdrop.

At this rate, next year she’ll be graduating college. Stay tuned.
