Moving on. Who makes the World team (thinking out loud)

(part 2 of my other post will come eventually. Right now it is going around in circles so I stopped for awhile)

With Nastia bowing out thanks to her father (and not because she is doing it for the team like the media pretends to be a fact.) who will the US send to Worlds?

National Champ Bridget Sloan is as close as you van get to a lock for team USA. She has won every AA meet she has entered so far this year and deserves to be named to the team.

Martha is set on sending Rebecca Bross because if she does hit she could win so she is a lock which leaves us two spots.

For me personally I wouldn’t send the K twins (Kayla Williams and Kytra Hunter) at all. Neither gymnast will be around and frankly I see no point in wasting the spot on them.

Sam Peszek could do vault, beam and floor and they could send someone like Sam Shapiro for UB (and experience) but I am not sure how injured Shapiro is. Cassie Whitcomb is another gymnast we could send for bars if that was the way Martha was leaning but getting in her head is impossible.

Chellsie Memmel did not look great at Nationals but according to her father she is in full training mode so it will be interesting to see what she can come up with on bars and beam.

I still can’t grasp not sending Ivana Hong to worlds. She won beam and took second in the AA doesn’t that merit a spot on this team? Oh I forgot that now being fair is not taken into consideration. Sometimes I agree with this and sometimes I don’t.

If it was up to me I would take the top 3 AA ers and let them duke it out for position sacrificing the 4th spot. No one really stands out right now but that won’t happen.

Worlds as a whole is very weak right with all the injuries and even if some of those people were involved it would still be weak. The sport as a whole has been weak since the new code started.
