Moose Day, 2020

Y’ALL I GET MY 2ND COVID SHOT TOMORROW. I can’t really believe I’m already here and we’re almost ready to get out and about and I’m even talking to my boss about coming back to in-office in the coming weeks (??). In a way I am beyond ready but in another way I am a bit freaked about all of it, I mean everyone is getting vaccinated and pouring out into restaurants and shops and public events. They are all back to posting cute outfit pictures on Instagram and talking about All I Learned from 2020 and posting group selfies back eating brunch in style like nothing ever happened. And I’m over here coming out of this Veronica style.

I barely survived and I’m not okay, okay! Get outta here with your “now I love puzzles and sourdough bread!” bullshit! Also don’t look me in the eye for awhile, I’m kinda feral now.

Anyway, what are we talking about today? Oh yeah. Moose man. The last of our 2020 COVID-style birthdays, so we were a pro by this time. We asked what he wanted to do, that could safely be done outside and preferably free of people but also somewhat interesting because going for a walk just didn’t seem birthday enough.

He chose putt-putt. So we grabbed our masks and went to excitedly show off our terrible, terrible mini-golf form.

Pete lost his ball. Like, a lot. In the shrubbery, in the drink, all over the place.

God bless that child.

Anyway, it was actually an abnormally warm, lovely day. Definitely a perfect time to enjoy some putt-putt.

Can’t not pick an open nose.

After a few rounds outside, we wandered inside and were pleasantly surprised to find: no one was taking advantage of the indoor range. So we stocked up on tokens and played the water boats for awhile…

Also decided to do a round of putt-putt but it quickly evolved (…devolved?) into a game of hide-n-seek.

Get me outta there for real.

We picked up a Shake Shack order on the way home, then had some singing and cake time:

Then it was time for the pinata. We decorated the house with images of Linus’ favorite YouTuber at the time, The Odd1sOut. I made him a pinata to match. I couldn’t bear the thought of bashing the poor dude’s cartoon in the face, though, so we made it a pull-string. Much more indoor appropriate that way.

Aaaaaand there you go, another birthday in the books. OMG I SWEAR I AM ALMOST CAUGHT UP. Mainly because I accidentally re-formatted an entire memory card without taking any pictures off of it, whoops, ha. Oh well, how important was November anyway, amirite?
