MONIKA ROSCHER BIGBAND – 8 Prinzessinnen

Lead single from the third album Witchy Activities And The Maple Death (2023, Zenna Records) of the Monika Roscher Bigband, a prog big band of 18 musicians between math-jazz and avant-pop.

Lyrics:

Eight princesses stand trial trying to steal the northern light trying to cage it and hide to gain eternal life

Eight princesses look surprised luminous faces gleaming eyes auras of light when they rise new glow of eternal life

Overstimulation can’t be regular all need to get noticed you can’t be you

From the abyss of confusion one’s got a clear view put on a brand new face if that’s the price you pay tell me how to escape

Beauty and youth commodified truths diamonds don’t choose their home

Self-evaluation feels like freedom but it’s not at all times at your disposal who could refuse

This is a dream not your own one and now you want more feed off a loss or win as a prize you’d fit right in no more shield of your own will

Eyes glowing eyes lightning hides nights passion is out of sight

Eight princesses passed trial luminous lies piled to the sky sweet scent of sulphur and bile left orbit waved goodbye

Eight princesses lost control felt like gods oh how they glowed keep on feeding the black hole entropy has grown
