Mixing Colors with 3 Pencils + Blender
Hi friends! Today, I am reviewing the Grizaye pencils from Colored Pencil Magazine. They offer a full range of colored pencils, a blender pencil as well as kits and classes you can buy. Their main product is a system of creating colored pencil art using the Grisaille method of glazing colors over a grayscale image to create luminous shading and depth. They sent me a sample of the pencils – a red, yellow, and blue, plus a blender and a mini pad of Stonehenge drawing paper – so I could see the quality of the products. All of their grayscale images are printed on Stonehenge paper. Check out how they work in today’s video:
The pencils mix and blend well; they’re an oil/wax hybrid. They are very affordable and have open stock availability. They remind me of Arteza. The blenders are very similar to Prismacolor, but I think they are a bit expensive. The bottom line, the quality is good, and I think the grayscale coloring kits would be a nice learning tool if you want to give them a try. Happy crafting!
