Minor League Baseball Sees New Additions to Alternate Identity List Ahead of 2025 Season

The MILB season will be starting soon. With it teams are starting to announce promotion schedules. One of these promotions often involves the use of an alternate identity.
It has been a couple of months since the last alternate identity was announced. Yet now we have six more that have come down the pipeline.
The first name is the Akron Cheese Salads. The Akron RubberDucks are no stranger to food themed names as this is their sixth name related to food. It’s a fine name with nods to the local cusine.
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats have decided to suite up as the Space Potatoes. It is a bit of an out there name, but it also feels on pair with the fun of Minor League Baseball. It’s not so crazy, it’s just fun.
The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp will play four games as the Honey Drippers. A honey dripper is a desert served in Jacksonville. The logo is bright and colorful and quite fun.
Then you have the Winston Salem Dash becoming the Hooch Pooches. Boston Terriers going bootlegging in their finest pinstripes is the motif for this logo. It’s just another fun addition and probably my favorite of the new alternate identities discussed here.
The Toledo Mud Hens are switching fowl and becoming the Mud Crawlers with a duck as the logo. It’s actually a nod to Jeeps and putting a rubber duck in your Jeep. Too bad the Akron RubberDucks and Toledo don’t share an affiliate as it would be nice to see the connection between two teams in the same farm system.
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have decided to become the Frozen Pizzas as their alternate identity. I like the logo with the pizza slice using a bat with a pizza cutter on the end. The frozen pizza oven logo is also fun too. They did a good job with this one. I like it, probably my second favorite.
I think overall this group of alternate identities are good. It’s a nice mix of fun themes without going too far over the top. They look good and fit the Minor League Baseball flavor of fun.
