Michael Jordan Interview and His Passion for the Game of Basketball

I was watching an interview on Michael Jordan turning 50 with Ahmad Rashad.  At the end of the interview, MJ was asked to finished the sentence, “The greatest thing about the game of basketball is…”, he answered:

It is not the most succinct quote you will ever get from Jordan but he stated two things I truly believe in when achieving success: do it for the passion and work hard at it.  It is something I have stated before (see link) and something I tell other people.  Do it for the passion, be it degree subject or career choice, and then you are willing to put in the work and effortlessly clock up hours to excellence.  All because you love what you are doing.  I often have to explain this to people when I tell them performance analysis is my other job but I don’t get paid for it.  I follow it by saying, I do it for the love and the money will come after (see link).  This statement I don’t quite believe in it just yet but I do hope it turns out to be true.
