Merry ” Bar humbug” Christmas and a Happy freaking new year
Yes, I wrote bar instead of bah because I would rather be in a bar drinking away the Skating season than doing just about anything else right now.
While I do wish you all, A Very, Merry Christmas and a Happy New year in reality I woke up to some shitty Skating news, and since I needed a blog idea I figured this was as good of an idea as any.
So basically Daisuke Takahashi or his partner fell (Not really sure. Can’t seem to find the results or a video) in the short dance (or whatever they are calling it now) and overall finished in second place so they most likely won’t be going to the Olympics. They technically could still go since they beat the other team internationally but if they run Figure Skating anywhere close to as stupid as they do Gymnastics (Leaving Mai Murakami home during the, OLYMPIC qualifying as an example) I don’t hold much hope. To top it all off, the most beautiful skater on the planet finished fifth (Satoko Miyahara) and there is next to no chance they send her. (Even though she was .35 out of 4th place and 3 points out of 3rd) So basically all I have left is Shomo Uno to root for at next years Olympics and he skates his LP tomorrow. )P.S.- Dai and his partner won the LP where the other team might have fallen (1 point deduction) but I guess that doesn’t matter.)
From what I read Russian Nationals was a walking episode of Criminal Minds. That basically means suspect scoring. Trusova, enjoy your gift kid.
Winter Cup with have woman again this year. Gotta love, USAG because this press release has more info for the Nastia cup than anything else. No American Cup this year. I wonder if it will ever come back?
Raj Bhavsar has been put in charge of the Junior men’s program. I can’t believe Brett Mclure still has a job. Will be interesting to see what Raj does with the juniors. His job is more important then sending the same seniors to Worlds and the Olympics so they can choke again.
