Hitting 10 home runs in a season doesn’t seem like a lot. yet doing it year in and year out seems to be a challenge.

Andre McCutchen of the Pittsburgh Pirates must not be afraid of that challenge. He hit his 10th home run of the season against San Francisco on July 28th, 2025, that broke a 4-4 tie and turned out to be the difference in a 6-5 Pirates win.

However, the neat thing about the home run was that it marked the 17th consecutive season that McCutchen has hit 10 home runs. He is only the 11th player all time to reach that goal. It shows how much consistency he has throughout his entire career hitting 10 home runs in each of his first 17 seasons.

Jeff Kent, Willie McCovey, Harold Baines, Mickey Mantle, Frank Robinson, Barry Bonds, Albert Pujols, Carl Yastrzemski, Eddie Murray and Hank Aaron are the other players to have reached this milestone. Aaron has the record with 23 seasons.

While it’s a record that McCutcheon probably won’t break it’s still pretty impressive to add his name to this list. This feels like something that adds to a resume for a hall of fame career. It’s good to see him reach another milestone.
