Massive Attack is a band from Bristol, England, best known for hits “Unfinished Sympathy”, “Risingson” and “Teardrop”. Their music has influences from various genres, ranging from trip-hop (acid) jazz, hip-hop, electronic music and rock to reggae and classical music.
The band is seen by the media as the most important pioneer in the trip-hop genre. Since 1987, more than nine million records have been sold worldwide. They have also collaborated on records by Madonna, Björk and Everything but the Girl, among others. Currently, their song “Teardrop” is used in the commercial of the game Assassin’s Creed and an edited version is used as the theme song for the series House. Their song “Paradise Circus” is also used in the British television series Luther. The song “Dissolved girl” can be heard in a scene in the movie The Matrix, where Neo meets Trinity for the first time.
