Born in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine, Maryna began her musical journey at the age of seven, inspired by the captivating sound of the bandura. She pursued formal education in music, studying at the School of Fine Arts in Khmelnytskyi, where she honed her skills on the bandura. She furthered her studies at the Vladyslav Zaremba Conservatory in Khmelnytskyi, actively participating in various national and international music competitions during her academic years. ​

The bandura is a traditional Ukrainian plucked string instrument that combines elements of the zither and lute. It has a distinctive, rounded body and numerous strings (ranging from 20 to over 60), which produce a harp-like, ethereal sound.

Maryna has gained national recognition through her appearances on Ukrainian television talent shows such as “The X Factor” and “The Voice,” where her performances showcased her exceptional talent and brought the unique sounds of the bandura to a broader audience. She has also represented Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest selection process, further solidifying her status in the Ukrainian music scene. ​
