Marxfest Returns: May 2024

I’ve been sitting on this news impatiently for months and am so glad to have the greenlight to leak it (with the aid of Noah Diamond’s premium artwork): May 2024 will see a bright, shiny, new edition of Marxfest, the highly successful Marx Brothers Festival first presented in May 2014. The occasion for the revival isn’t just the 10th anniversary of the first festival — it’s also the 100th anniversary of the premiere of I’ll Say She Is, the Marx Brothers first Broadway show (first revived by us in 2014 and 2016). There will be so much to celebrate, including tons of new scholarship and Marx Brothers-related STUFF. We’ll have some of the top Marx Brothers scholars in the world, famous show biz folks, and much more. You’ll get details soon (this blogpost is honestly an unofficial leak) but I could not hold my tongue any longer, especially as the new website is already functional. That’ll be the place to go for updates as things progress. Anyway, if you’re a Marx Brothers fan, prepare to have your mind blown. The events we have cooking will not be of the everyday variety.
