Maranatha receives NCCAA at-large bid

Nov 6, 2013
1 min read

Maranatha lost in four sets to Lincoln Christian at the Midwest Regional final last weekend, but the Crusaders’ season will continue after receiving an at-large bid to the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II tournament.

Maranatha was the No. 1 seed at the Midwest Regional and had been highly ranked all season, so the bid was expected. The Crusaders will either be the No. 5 or No. 6 seed at the NCCAA national championship, depending on whether Cairn University qualifies for the NCAA tournament out of the CSAC. Cairn is the No. 2 seed at this week’s CSAC tournament.

UPDATE (11/7 @ 9:15 p.m.): Cairn lost in the CSAC semifinals. Maranatha will be the No. 6 seed.

The 10-team NCCAA tournament will be held Nov. 14-16 in Lincoln, Ill., and hosted by Lincoln Christian.
