Madison Jaszemski Embracing Many Opportunities Thiel College Has Presented

Madison Jaszemski did not go far for her college years. A native of Grove City, she headed to Thiel College and is currently a senior studying early childhood education and is a member of the Thiel Tomcats competition and sideline cheer squads as well as a student worker in the alumni office.

“I love Thiel because of the small close-knit community that is fostered here. From the small class size that fosters close relationships with professors to the high-energy sporting events, Thiel has become my home away from home. At Thiel, I have found the most genuine, kind, and caring people who sincerely want every individual they come in contact with to succeed in their personal endeavors. This place transforms the young adults that come in as freshmen into the future of America while preparing us for any curveball that life may throw us.”

Now in her fourth season as a college cheerleader, she’s hoping to help this squad have an even stronger 2023 after a 2022 that included an NCA College Cheer Regional Championships and a 2022 NCA National Runner-Up finish.

“My favorite memory from my cheer career is finishing second at NCA Collegiate Cheerleading Nationals,” she said. Having the opportunity to even attend the event was a dream for me, but competing was something I never thought I would have the chance to do. Being able to do what I love on one of the biggest stages in cheerleading is something I will remember for the rest of my life.”

In her career, she’s had a few key coaches who have helped her to develop her skills in the sport including her mother, Tracy Jaszemski, and former teammate and coach Klay Lawler. “These two people have lifted me up when I was down, pushed me to the best of my abilities, and fostered the love I have for cheerleading in the process.”

Now just a few months away from some of her last competitions, the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society inductee is hoping that this relatively new competition cheer squad can continue the success for the foreseeable future. Best of luck in the rest of your college career, Madison!
