Luther moving from ARC to MWC in 2026

Luther College is set to join the Midwest Conference in the 2026-27 academic year, ending its affiliation with the American Rivers Conference after more than a century. Luther was a charter member of the then-called Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Association in 1922.

Luther’s transition marks the first institution to depart the ARC and the first to join the MWC since Cornell College made the ARC-to-MWC move in 2012.

In 2026 the ARC will be comprised of eight women’s volleyball programs and the MWC 10.
