Lonnie Craft Gearing Up for Two-Sport College Career at the University of Mount Union

Lonnie Craft, a four-sport standout for the Western Beaver Golden Beavers, will be continuing to take part in two sports at the college varsity level for the University of Mount Union Purple Raiders football and track and field programs.

It just felt like home,” said Craft about Mount Union. The coaching staff showed amazing hospitality and made me feel like I could come in right away and make a huge impact right away. I’m excited to be able to continue the championship culture that they’re known for.”
Upon his commitment, he becomes one step closer to achieving a goal of becoming an All-American in two different sports. Though this is a future goal, there are many he has been able to reach in his time at Western Beaver.

In his high school athletic career so far, he’s become a three-time All-Conference football player, a two-time All-State selection in football, a Terrific 23 All-Star, the MAC Student-Athlete of the Year, the MAC and Three Rivers Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year, a First-Team All-Section basketball player, a participant in the Penn Ohio Game and RoundBall Classic, and a team captain in four varsity sports.
The high school senior intends to major in exercise science with a minor in coaching in order to become a personal trainer and coach in professional sports.
What her cherishes most about playing sports is the opportunity to build bonds and relationships with his teammates and be able to compete against other standout athletes in a competitive environment.

Best of luck to you and your teammates in track and field this season, Lonnie! Thank you for the chance to share your commitment and accomplishments to date football 🏈 🏃🏾♂️
