Locations & Mise en Scene

The locations that I have selected are my own house and a local beach situated in Groudle. I have selected these locations as I think they will be suitable for my intended narrative of a self-conscious teenage girl who is learning to accept herself.

The beach location will be shown predominately throughout the choruses to express the emotional state of mind expressed in the song, and the house scenes will accompany the verses to convey the everyday struggles of the character’s insecurities. I intend to film the outdoor scenes on a clear afternoon/early evening. The lighting will be natural but fading. During the bedroom scenes, I will use high-keyunnatural lighting. This will juxtapose the darker natural lighting of the outdoor scenes. I will also include some shots on the stairs of the house setting. These stairs will symbolise the emotional journey of the character.
