Linfield Hires New Coach

Welcome to the West Region, Coach Haley Doefler!

Linfield has announced the hiring of Coach Doefler to lead the Wildcats volleyball team effective later this month. The school’s announcement can be found here. Coach Doefler comes from Seattle Pacific University where she spent the last year as an assistant. She ended her playing career at Hawaii Pacific University in 2015 where she was an outstanding middle. Therefore, as a former middle, I have to approve of this hire. Coach Doefler takes over for Josh Davis who stepped down after two seasons.

Linfield is coming off a 5-23 record so there is work to be done. The Linfield article mentions that Coach Doefler is the first women to coach volleyball there since 1979. The main reason for that was Coach Shane Kimura who was there for 38 years after that. It is kind of interesting that Linfield had only one coach for all that time but will now have their second coach in the last 3 seasons.

This leaves only two coaching vacancies left in the West Region – Hardin-Simmons and La Verne.

D3VbWest wishes nothing but the best for Coach Doefler and the Linfield Wildcats!
