Lincoln (2012)

Director: Steven Spielberg

Starring: Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, David Strathairn

As the American Civil War continues to rage, America’s president struggles with continuing carnage on the battlefield as he fights with many inside his own cabinet on the decision to emancipate the slaves.

Two films in the same year about slavery. The one (Django Unchained) was one of the most disgusting films I’ve ever seen and the other (Lincoln) one of the most boring films. And both of these throw the Nigger word around like its candy at Halloween. I understand this is history and it will probably appeal to historians or people whose forefathers were slaves, but that was over a hundred years ago and there really is no need for the new generation to be reminded of that.

Daniel Day-Lewis is very good, as usual, but the film drags at a snail’s pace. (hell, even a snail moves faster!!). This was just BORING.
