Life on Earth

Sydney June 2015 – April 2016 (6 photos)

At the Vivid Festival of Sydney in 2015, one of the light installations was a video entitled Life Story, by BBC Earth. The installation featured the flowing natural imagery of bird, marine and animal life originally filmed by the BBC Natural History Unit for its epic television series Life Story. The BBC Earth’s Life Story installation was projected onto the vaulted rock-face roof of the Argyle Cut creating a vast, never-ending pattern of textures, colours and intertwined shapes. It explored themes of birth and life in one continual and seamless projection, perfectly framed by the cavernous rock surface of the Cut, and was narrated by Sir David Attenborough.

The Earth and the environment feature heavily in Art works these days.

It’s as if we need to be reminded that Earth and Mother Nature need our helping hand…

This last photo was taken on Cockatoo island at the Biennale of Sydney. The artist is Korakrit Arunanondchai. The installation is entitled, “Painting with history in a room filled with people with funny names 3, 2015-16.”
The room you see the art installation in was used as one of the locations for the Wolverine movie.
