LETU Names Coach

LeTourneau was polite and waiting on me to get back from vacation before naming Alison Williams as their new Head Volleyball Coach replacing Mallory Matthews who resigned to take the ETBU position. These two women will now be heated rivals as their schools are just 25 miles apart.

Coach Williams becomes the 20th head volleyball coach in LeTourneau’s history. She comes from Division II Lincoln Memorial and has over 10 years of college coaching experience. Looking at her history, she’s had some really good success at the NAIA level before taking over Lincoln Memorial in time to deal with the Covid season of 2020. Last season was a down year record-wise so she’ll be looking to hit the ground running at LeTourneau.

It will be interesting to see if her husband joins her coaching staff as he was on the Lincoln Memorial team. Last year’s assistant, Allison Kuster, moved to ETBU with Coach Matthews. LeTourneau had a good squad in 2021 but will be losing some valuable seniors and had a couple of recruits switch to ETBU after the coaching change.

Best of luck to Coach Williams and my hope is that she can continue to build the LeTourneau volleyball program!
