Let’s Talk Costco Snacks for Spring/Summer 2025
Some of the posts that get the most traffic are those with suggestions for snacks. The snack aisles happen to be one of my favorite areas of the store. There are constantly new items and the wide variety appeal to many different diets and cravings. I came across a few articles with snack suggestions and combined them with information about the items and then some comments. Some items were specifically mentioned as snacks for the summer but it really doesn’t make a difference so I am not differentiating. (Hey, if I followed recommended items based on weather/season, I wouldn’t get my ice cream enjoyment in the winter or my Passover cake enjoyment (Product Review: World of Chantilly Passover 7-layer cake) many months after the holiday).
Suggested Costco Snacks
1. Snyder’s of Hanover Mini Pretzels
One of several suggested pretzel-based snacks are these mini pretzels sold in boxes of 60 0.9-ounce bags. Apparently, they are crunchy and contain a good level of salt, enabling them to be eaten plain or with dips or hummus.
I have written before about not eating too many pretzels and that when I do it is mainly just to use to dip into peanut butter(Product Review:Kirkland organic creamy peanut butter), hummus, or guacamole (Product Review: Good Foods Chunky Guacamole). i buy larger bags but these are certainly convenient for travel.
2. Maui Monk Stellar Pretzel Braids
For those who want to snack on more flavorful pretzels, Costco stores in the Midwest sell two pound bags of these pretzels, flavored with onion and monk fruit. Apparently, they are a popular snack on Southwest airlines.
As mentioned above, I stick with plain pretzels, but for those who like to snack on pretzels, the flavor sounds good. Reviews mention a somewhat spicy/sweet flavor combination.
3. Kirkland Signature Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels
A third suggestion of a snack for those wanting pretzels are these salted pretzels nuggets filled with creamy peanut butter. They are sold in 55 ounce jars.
Pretzels and peanut butter is a great combination. I occasionally dip pretzels into peanut butter but prefer to control how much of each I eat (heavy on the peanut butter!). However, I know people love these nuggets.
4. Sargento Fun Balanced Breaks
I recently mentioned these snacks (More Costco Spring/Summer 2025 Items).
5. Phonomenal Foods Ripened Jackfruit Crisps
This new crunchy snack at Costco comes in 13-ounce bags.
I have never eaten jackfruit so I don’t know what they taste like. I was not able to find much information about these crisps.
6. Late July Mexican Street Corn Chips
I recently mentioned these chips (More Costco Spring/Summer 2025 Items).
7. Kirkland Signature Organic Dried Pineapple Tidbits
A recommendation for a dried fruit snack are these pineapple pieces. Members like these sweet snacks as an alternative to candy. They are organic and consist of only pineapple. Bags are 26 ounces.
I remember the first time I had dried pineapple when I was in college. It was coated in sugar and, although I liked it at the time, I am sure I would find it too sweet now. It also had an odd texture that was sort of chewy and grainy but also kind of enjoyable. I like the idea of plain dried pineapple and could imagine this being a good snack alone or with nuts.
8. Welch’s Fruit Snacks
For those who prefer fruit snacks to dried fruit, these fruit snacks are made with real fruit, making them a healthier option than some other fruit snacks. They are preservative and gluten-free, and contain vitamin A, C, and E. The boxes contain 90 0.8-ounce individual packages.
If these were kosher, I’d be tempted to try them. Yes, fruit snacks are more of a “kid food” but although I rarely eat non-chocolate candy, sometimes I have a desire to eat chewy, fruity treats. The small bags would also be convenient for a quick sugar boost if needed.
9. Volupta Thai Mango Rice Crisps
These crisps combine rice chips with dried fruit. They are sold in 12-ounce bags.
I have never seen these crisps and did not find much about them. They sound intriguing but, given how infrequently I eat chips, I will not be trying them. I wonder if they’d be good with peach mango salsa (Product Review: Santa Barbara mango peach salsa); which is now back at Costco!))
10. Wilde Protein Chips Nashville Hot Flavor
A meat-based high protein snack are these chips made from chicken breast, egg whites, and chicken bone broth. Packages are 7 ounces.
Just…no…
11. Kirkland Signature Premium Extra Thick Steak Strips
Another high protein snack are these steak strips sold in 12 ounce bags. Apparently, these snacks contain a strong meaty flavor that tastes like a steak. The texture is also rated highly.
Another snack that is definitely not for me.
12. Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Peanut Granola Bars
These granola bars are sold in boxes of 48 bars. The snacks are made with peanut prices and dipped in a coating made from peanut and almond butter. They are also lower in sugar than many other granola bars.
I haven’t eaten a Nature Valley granola bar in a very long time but I always liked them very much. I have only eaten the crunchy bars. I used to keep the Oats N’ Honey And Peanut Butter varieties in my dorm room in college because they were a tasty and substantial snack.
13. Kirkland Signature Trail Mix Snack Packs
This trail mix, consisting of peanuts, raisins, almonds, cashews, milk chocolate pieces, and peanut M&Ms is a recommended snack option. Boxes contain 28 individual 2-ounce bags.
This mix sounds very good. I generally like to make my own trail mixes so that I can control the ingredients and ratios. I also tend to prefer to keep the fruit and nut mixes separate from ones with chocolate. However, for those looking for a mix with a wide variety of ingredients, this mix is a good option.
14. Kirkland Microwave Popcorn Movie Theater Butter
A buttery treat on the suggested snack list is this popcorn. It is sold in boxes of 44 3.3-ounce individual bags. It is low in calories and does not contain any sugar. Apparently, it has large popped kernels.
I have not had microwave popcorn in a long time but remember making it to eat while watching movies. It was generally very good, although hard to get right (either burned or too many kernels unpopped). It is a good item to have around. It is definitely not as convenient as the other items on this list due to requiring a microwave but can be made ahead of time and taken as a snack if one needs a healthy treat to transport.
15. Pirate’s Booty Aged White Cheddar Snack
For those who want to munch on popcorn with a different flavor profile, this snack is sold in boxes of 40 9.5-ounce bags of cheddar cheese popcorn. The popcorn contains more natural ingredients than other cheese popcorn options.
I have never tried this popcorn but should. I know many people rave about these brand. I used to love Smartfood cheese popcorn and my understanding is that this product is a healthier, lighter version. (On a funny note, a few years ago, I saw a store brand of this product called “Sailor’s Loot…) I would beote inclined to buy a larger bag of the popcorn, as the individual bags seem so small. Good for travel or for kids though.
16. Kirkland Signature Organic Applesauce Pouches
Another fruity snack is this applesauce. It contains two ingredients (apples; ascorbic acid) and is not as sweet as other snacks. It is sold in boxes of 24 3.17-ounce pouches.
I like applesauce as a warm side dish or a topping for potato pancakes or the (no longer made) spinach pancakes (Product Review: Dr.Praeger’s spinach cakes). She has not made it in years but my mom makes a delicious homemade applesauce. I tend not to eat applesauce alone and I definitely would not eat it from a pouch (I have mentioned my aversion to certain packaging before). However, these are great for kids.
17. RXBAR Protein Bars Variety Pack
A high protein snack that is recommended aee these protein bars. The boxes contain 14 bars in two flavors (chocolate sea salt; blueberry). The Ingredients (egg whites; almonds; cashews; dates; blueberries or chocolate) are natural and healthy.
These bars sound very good. The Ingredients sound similar to those in Lara Bars, which I like very much. I wouldn’t choose blueberry so the variety pack would not be great for me but the chocolate variety sounds very good.
18. Universal Bakery Traditional Aussie Bites
These bites are found in the bakery section rather than the snack aisle. They contain natural ingredients (apricots; raisins; rolled oats; flax seeds; sunflower seeds; shredded coconut; honey). They get very positive reviews. I have only seen them in a 30-ounce container but I saw them advertised online in a 27-ounce container, with individually wrapped bites. Perhaps it varies by location.
I have looked at these bites many times, hoping I had missed a kosher symbol. They sound and look like a good snack. However, I don’t think I’m missing anything.
19. Kirkland Signature Milk Chocolate Almonds
A sweeter snack on the list are these chocolate almonds that are sold in three pound jars. They get positive reviews due to the combination and the quality of the ingredients.
I have mentioned before that I generally prefer chocolate and nuts as two separate snacks, rather than combined. However, peanuts and almonds are the exception. I have not tried these candies, as I prefer dark chocolate (Product Review: Klein’s Passover Dark Chocolate Almonds), but these do sound good and would also make a nice treat to put out at a gathering.
20. Kirkland Signature Cashew Clusters
Another nut-based snack that is recommended are these clusters made from nuts and seeds(cashews; almonds; pumpkin seeds) And sweetened with rice syrup. They are a good combination of sweet and salty and have good nutritional statistics. They come in a 32-ounce bag and advertise 50% cashews (a sign of the quality as cashews are generally more expensive than almonds or sunflower seeds).
I reviewed this delicious snack years ago (Product Review: Kirkland Cashew Clusters). They are very good and could serve as a snack any time of the day. A few years ago, I saw a new chocolate covered variety but was not interested. These clusters definitely don’t need chocolate and would likely be overpowered by chocolate.
Have you tried any of these snacks? Will you try them?
