Heavy hitters highlight the teams representing the LCK this year at worlds. With the current World champions and 2024 MSI winners among the representatives it should be tough sledding for the other regions.

The LCK is stacked. Last year’s world champion T1 almost didn’t even make worlds. Yet they qualify as the fourth seed from the region. With a win in the 2024 Esports World Cup and a third-place finish at MSI seeding should be a bit deceiving. T1 should be considered a favorite to repeat as champions in 2024.

Dplus KIA is the three seed. They have a world championship win when they were known as Damwon Gaming back in 2020. Though last year they missed the quarterfinals finishing in 9th-11th place. either way I would say they have a better chance to make the knockout round then not.

Gen.G is the second seed. They won MSI 2024 and had a strong run during the LCK Summer Spilt going 17-1. They did however fall short in the Summer Playoffs finishing second.

I would call Gen.G a favorite to go pretty far in the tournament. Even if they didn’t have a great showing at the World Cup.

Then the top seed is Hanwha Life. Top seeds are always a threat. Plus, after defeating a strong team like Gen.G in the LCK finals they have a big win to build momentum off of.

Last year the LCK had three of four teams make the quarterfinals. However, only one team got further. That was however the champions T1. DRX took home the title in 2022, making the LCK as back-to-back champions heading into this year.

This could put a target on their backs as the other regions look to dethrone them. However, I don’t think these teams go down easily. It’s pretty much product a champion or bust for the LCK in 2024. The question is which team will it be though?
