‘Last Team Standing’ finalists emerge

Which team will be last in the nation to enter the loss column? Track the progress of the contenders on the Last Team Standing (2011) page. From that page you can link to every undefeated team’s schedule. I also provided each team’s schedule through Oct. 15.

The list is a bit long with 27 contenders, but it’s manageable enough to start keeping track. It could shrink soon because seven of the finalists are in action tonight. The list of undefeated teams in the Midwest and Central regions is a short one: Washington, Chicago and St. Thomas.

Washington-St. Louis was the Last Team Standing in 2010. In 2009 it was Texas-Dallas. If there’s a team missing from the 2011 list, please let me know.

With a few exceptions, the Standout Stats page is also updated through matches of 9/13. There were some nice numbers posted in the last two days. For example, there’s a freshman outside at Principia, Tess Rountree, who could give Maranatha’s Torey DeLozier some competition for most entries in the kills portion of the page.
