Lady Aye’s New Book Drops Today!

Just a real quick note to let you know the exciting news that the new book by Ilise Carter a.k.a. The Lady Aye drops today! It’s entitled When We Spoke to the Dead How Ghosts Gave American Women Their Voice. It’s a provocative title, but will only seem silly to you if you don’t know the history of Spiritualism in the 19th and early 20th centuries, which began with the Fox Sisters, and continued to be largely activated and patronized by women throughout the decades. I’ve been jazzed about the prospect of this book since Her Ladyship told me about it several months ago, and can’t wait to dive in, as it happens to be relevant to what is now likely to be my next book (I’m contemplating pushing the promised Electric Vaudeville back yet again so I can tie the roll-out to the centennial anniversary of the founding of the broadcast networks).

I have my copy of When We Spoke to the Dead in hand, so expect a full report here within the next few weeks. We’ll have definitely have it up in time for the Halloween season. Meantime, though, you can get your own copy here.
