KNOSIS – Fuhai (2024)

Knosis is a Japanese metalcore band formed by Ryo Kinoshita, formerly of Crystal Lake, as a personal project in late 2022. Their music blends traditional metalcore with a variety of other influences like nu-metal, hardcore, and digital elements, creating an experimental sound that goes beyond genre norms. The band’s debut EP The Shattering (2023) contains three tracks: “Sei Sai,” “Imi Oni,” and “Kurui Bi,” which showcase Ryo’s ability to mix intense metal breakdowns, rap, and melodic elements. Knosis’ music is deeply personal to Ryo, who describes it as his “therapy,” using the aggressive style to express emotional battles and personal struggles.
