KING GARBAGE – Peanut Butter Kisses
King Garbage, the Asheville, NC-based American Soul Music duo of Zach Cooper and Vic Dimotsis, have release their second new single, “Peanut Butter Kisses”. Stream and download at https://lnk.to/KGKisses
Dimotsis says of the track, “Nicotine stained fingers inch down the nut-butter aisle of your local grocer. Big hair in purple leather wears a cologne of sucrose like a fine French perfume. Chewing gum, smokes, and whipped cream dance on the checkout belt to a 3/4 ballad. Classic Rock never tasted so good.”
The song is the follow up to “Piper (Single Version)”, which was released this past Summer. Mike Patton (Faith No More, co-owner of Ipecac) said of their Ipecac debut single, “This is comfort food for nasty people. Just brings smiles and heartwarming power, amazing writing and execution. Plus you have a rhythm section who are tighter than a frog’s asshole.”
The guys also just released the first episode of their soon-to-be-award-winning public access show, WKGTV. Check it out at https://youtu.be/rA7juAg6rFc
The band is currently working on their follow up to 2017’s Make It Sweat, which will be in fan’s hands in March 2022. Both new songs showcase their take on classic rhythm & blues via new terrain through the band’s use of hybrid guitar/bass and tight / fearless drumming led by dynamically suggestive vocals and outer-space tenor saxophone. In their sound, traces of D’Angelo, J Dilla and Marvin Gaye’s influence are easily detectable and revered.
King Garbage is the result of a 16-year friendship and collaboration between Cooper and Dimotsis. As Grammy-Nominated Producers, KG channel classic soul music through a funky lens on their acclaimed debut album Make it Sweat and production collaborations with The Weeknd, SZA, Travis Scott, Ellie Goulding, Ricky Reed, THEY., Jon Batiste and Billy Porter.
The band frequently collaborate with Leon Bridges, co-producing “Lions” and “Mrs.” on Good Thing (2018) and contributing to three songs on his most recent release, Gold-Digger Sounds – “Sweeter,” “Why Don’t You Touch Me,” and “Details.”
