Keep tabs on insect pests in NH: scouting data available

Trapping for insect pests
UNH Cooperative Extension receives grants through the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets and Food that help us monitor major pests of fruit and vegetable crops in New Hampshire. During the growing season, we set traps in several NH locations for sweet corn insects (European corn borer, corn earworm, and fall armyworm), squash vine borer, and spotted wing drosophila.
The current data are now posted online, so you can check sites near you to find out when and where these pests are present. Bookmark these sites – they are updated weekly, so you can check regularly throughout the season.
Later on, we’ll be adding the spotted wing drosophila data, as well as season-long summary graphs.
