KATE BUSH – Rocket Man (Elton John)

“Rocket Man” is so suitable for a reggae version. Who could guess it would come from Kate Bush!

“Two Rooms: Celebrating the Songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin” is a tribute album released in 1991. It honors the iconic songwriting partnership between Elton John (composer) and Bernie Taupin (lyricist), who together crafted some of the most beloved songs in pop and rock history. Some of the artists and notable covers include:

• Phil Collins — “Burn Down the Mission”

• Sinead O’Connor — “Sacrifice”

• The Who — “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting”

• Sting — “Come Down in Time”

• Eric Clapton — “Border Song”

• Tina Turner — “The Bitch Is Back”

• Kate Bush — “Rocket Man” (her reggae-tinged version is particularly famous and loved)

• George Michael — “Tonight”

• Wilson Phillips — “Daniel”

The title, “Two Rooms,” refers to their unique working style: Elton and Bernie typically worked separately — Bernie would write lyrics in one space (or “room”) while Elton would compose the music in another. This separation, yet deep creative connection, became symbolic of their partnership.
