June Buys at Costco

Jun 15, 2025
9 min read

I have written before about the seasonal items at Costco (Navigating Seasonal Items at Costco). Some items are very matched to specific times of the year (e.g., bathing suits), whereas others are year-round but just tend to be available at certain times (e.g., Cheetos). I came across a few lists of items available in June. The lists contained new items, items on discount, or potential gifts (e.g., Father’s Day; graduation). I put several of the items together in this post.

Items to look for in June

Edible

1. POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice ($3 off)

One beverage to buy in June is this pomegranate juice. It contains a lot of antioxidants and is sold in 64-ounce bottles.

I have never had pomegranate juice and am not too interested, despite knowing that it is popular. I do like the bottle though.

2. Sunberry Farms Organic Guava Nectar

Another juice option for the summer is this guava nectar, sold in 128-ounce jars. Apparently, the juice can be consumed plain or mixed into smoothies or cocktails.

I have never tried guava juice. I looked it up and saw that its flavor is best compared to a combination of strawberry and pear. It sounds too sweet for me but I imagine it could also be a good addition to seltzer.

3. Dr Pepper ($4.20 off)

At different times, Costco sells different soda varieties on discount. The current deal is on Dr Pepper (regular or diet). Cases contain 36 12-ounce cans.

It was interesting to read that Costco is a good place to find deals on soda, as I have written before that soda is an item I *don’t* recommend buying at Costco (Costco vs. Supermarkets). I have mentioned before that I no longer drink soda. However, when I did, Dr. Pepper was one of my favorites. I still remember being surprised (and pleased) to see that it was an option at soda fountains in the Western states.

4. Mexican Coke

Another soda to look for at Costco in June is Mexican Coke. It is more expensive than traditional Coke. However, many say that it is worth the extra money for the better taste. It is  made with cane sugar (vs high fructose corn syrup). Cases contain 24 12-ounce bottles.

I have never had Mexican Coke but I am familiar with the appeal of the soda made with sugar. During Passover, when corn syrup is not permitted for many Jews, the Coke is produced with real sugar. I don’t drink it but many claim that it tastes significantly better and stock up while it is available, even for after the holiday. The article also mentioned that there is a Mexican Sprite option at some stores. I have never heard of that.

5. La Colombe Draft Latte Cold Brew Coffee

Forthose seeking their coffee fix, members like this variety, with some ranking it as their favorite canned coffee, due to the idea level of sweetness and absence of bitterness. These drinks are sold in variety packs (Caramel; Vanilla; Mocha) of 12 9-ounce cans.

I don’t drink coffee.

6. Hillshire Farm Naturals Turkey Breast ($3.20 off)

Another item at Costco for June is this turkey, sold in three 11-ounce packages. Members like that the meat is packaged in smaller quantities than other Costco deli meats because it is less likely to spoil.

I certainly wouldn’t buy this item but it is a good purchase for those who enjoy turkey sandwiches.. perhaps on the beach?

7. Boneless Pork Loin Vacuum Package ($5 off)

Another meat option for June is this pork loin, which can be cooked in a variety of ways (roast; pulled pork; grill). The exact size varies by package.

Definitely not for me!

8. Amylu Organic Chicken Burger with Caramelized Onion and Aged White Cheddar

For those looking for a dinner option, these chicken burgers are a good option. The frozen patties are sold in a box of eight and can be cooked in a variety of ways (grill; pan-fried; microwave).

Not for me but again, a good summer option for an easy meal.

9. Bachan’s Japanese Barbecue Sauce

Not meat itself, but an item often used with meat is this condiment that is available this month. Sold in 24-ounce bottles, members recommend using this sauce in a variety of ways (marinade for meat or fish; salad dressing; dip).

I don’t really like BBQ sauce (and don’t eat many things on which I’d put it) but this sauce sounds like a good purchase for many summer meals).

10. Kirkland Signature All Butter Pound Cake ($1.50 off)

Not necessarily associated with summer, but this pound cake is a recommended purchase in June. The cake is 32 ounces and apparently freezes very well.

I have looked at this cake many times but have never bought it. I should give it a try as I like pound cake a lot. Growing up, we often bought the frozen Sara Lee pound cakes, toasted pieces, and then actually added extra butter on top. More recently, I ate the Entennman’s brand quite often and like it with eggs, yogurt, or cottage cheese, and fruit. Like many of the baked goods, I am not surprised that it freezes well (Best Costco Items to Freeze) and then can be defrosted or warmed quickly in the microwave.

11. Island Way Sorbet Assortment ($4.50 off)

A suggested frozen item to buy this month are these sorbet desserts. The boxes contain 12 sorbet treats in fruit shells in a variety of flavors (Heavenly Coconut; Red Berry, Ruby Grapefruit; Passionate Mango; Zesty Pomegranate)

I have never tried this sorbet but I want to. It looks delicious. The treats are very attractive in the fruit shells and the flavors sound great. I tend to prefer ice cream over sorbet or sherbet but, once in awhile, I like a fruity frozen treat (especially when very hot weather).

12. Gold Kiwi ($3 off)

For those looking to take advantage of summer fruit, these kiwis are highly recommended. They come in three-pound packages and are high in Vitamin C.

I love kiwis. I don’t think I’ve ever had gold kiwis but the green ones are delicious. Growing up, they were very expensive so they were a treat when on sale. I remember my mom struggling to peel the fuzzy skin off and how much of the fruit got wasted in the cutting. Then in college, I ate them a lot as they were frequently available. I also learned that a much easier and less wasteful way to eat them was to cut them in half and spoon out the fruit (I know, how did we not know this?). They are still expensive but certainly a good deal at Costco, especially given the quality. The article cautions that they spoil quickly but my experience with kiwi has been that they last weeks when stored in the fridge.

13. Vegetable Tray with Everything Ranch Dip ($2 off)

Another produce item to buy in June is this vegetable and dip platter. The four pound tray contains a variety of vegetables (carrots; peppers; celery; snap peas; broccoli) and creamy ranch dip.

Due to the inflated cost of most prepared fruit or vegetable platters, I have always made my own. However, this is a very convenient option for a summer gathering.

14. Frito-Lay Cheetos Crunchy ($2.40 off)

A snack that has nothing to do with summer but is available this month are these Cheetos. Bags are 28.8 ounces.

I haven’t had a Cheeto in decades and would not buy them now. However, I remember them being a fun and tasty treat.

15. Sensible Portions Garden Veggie Straws ($5 off)

A healthier snack option to buy in June are these veggie straws. Bags are 15 ounces.

I have never tried these, despite family members frequently buying them. Though they look good, I’d rather just eat vegetables. I did think it was funny that they were mentioned as a good idea for a Father’s Day present. My family has never been big on presents for the holidays (preferring to give gifts anytime but always focusing more on time together than on material items). However, for those who do give gifts, I think a bag of these chips is funny.

16. Hickory Farms Father’s Day Gift Box

A suggested Father’s Day gift that is not Veggie Straws is this package containing a variety of treats (summer sausage; crackers; cheddar; mustard; candy).

I think that gift boxes are a lot of fun but I never buy them as I find them overpriced and prefer to make my own gift packages.

17. Mrs. Fields Happy Father’s Day Cookie Combo Tin

Another gift box is this 2.5 pound tin of baked goods. The packages contain a variety of small cookies (semi-sweet chocolate chip; triple chocolate chip; white chocolate macadamia nut; cinnamon sugar), larger frosted cookies, and brownies (double fudge; toffee fudge).

Again, I don’t buy food gift packages but these definitely sound delicious! I have always liked Mrs Fields cookies. They no longer sell them (at least around me) but I used to buy packages of them and they were one of my favorite packaged treats.

Edible

18. Titan 40-Can Collapsible Cooler ($6 off)

Some of the items suggested to buy in June are non edible items. One is this cooler that can hold 40 cans. It is a good item to buy for hosting gatherings or taking to the beach.

40 cans sounds too big for me but I agree that it is important to have a good cooler. I remember the old coolers we had. They worked to keep food and drinks but they were so clunky! Plastic, with a sliding opening that caused frequent injury. They were also heavy. The softer coolers make a lot more sense and have the added bonus of collapsing when empty.

19. Nespresso Vertuo Next Deluxe

For those seeking coffee, Costco is selling this milk frother for making cappuccinos and lattes. It comes with 32 coffee and espresso pods. Members report that the coffee pods are expensive but worth the price for the quality and convenience.

Again, not a coffee drinker.

20. Bialetti Stovetop Espresso Maker

Expresso lovers looking to to.make their own, this machine is a suggested purchase for June. Apparently, this machine is made from high quality materials and is easy to both use and clean.

21. Brita Champlain Pitcher ($12.50 off)

Another item on the June list are these water filtering pitchers. The pitcher holds 10 cups and the package contains two filters.

We used to have a Brita filter years ago. I don’t remember the water tasting differently but I liked it because we kept it in the fridge, ensuring cold water. I am fine with tap water and actually now usually prefer to drink it warm or room temperature. I have always lived in places known for having pretty good tap water so others may notice more of an actual taste difference.

22. Sodastream Terra CQC Bundle ($35 off)

If (even-filered) water does not appeal, seltzer drinkers who want to save money and make their own fizzy beverages, this soda stream is a helpful purchase this month. It enables people to easily turn tap water into seltzer.

I actually did not know what a soda stream was so I looked it up. I don’t drink seltzer but this seems Iike a fun purchase for those who do.

23. Plants and Gardening Supplies

For those with “green thumbs”, June is a good month for buying gardening materials. The article mentions that Costco contains limited gardening supplies but that the items they do carry are extremely well-priced. One recommended plant is the Star Jasmine Flowering Plant.

I am not a gardener, despite very much appreciating looking at plants and flowers. My mom is a great gardener but I never learned the skills. (I even killed the cactus that I was given freshman year of college). I did like helping my dad with his vegetable garden growing up but again, did not continue with the hobby.

24. Chlorine Tabs and Pool Shock

Those with pools can benefit from buying these products in June. The article points out that they will likely be sold out by the middle of the summer. Apparently Costco sells the items for less money than pool supply stores.

I don’t have a pool so I have no need for them but it is helpful for others to know that the supplies should be purchased early in the season (consistent with many of the seasonal Costco patterns (Navigating Seasonal Items at Costco)).

25. Lovesac Sac and Squattoman Bundle

Another item recommended for purchase in June is this piece of furniture. The bundle contains a chair and an ottoman in a soft material. The pair comes in three sizes and is a good option for those with limited space.

I had never heard of this item so I looked it up. I don’t have space for more furniture right now (even one aimed at limited space!) but it does look very comfortable. I have always loved papasan chairs (my friends and I used to have to rotate who sat on them because we all wanted a turn) and these chairs look similar with an even softer seat.

Are you interested in any of these items suggested for June?
