In Which I Talk With Eve Golden About Her New Lupe Vélez Book!

A special treat to celebrate National Podcast Day — a treat for me, anyway.

I had the honor and pleasure of talking with show biz biographer Eve Golden this week about her new book Strictly Dynamite: The Sensational Life of Lupe Velez:

As always when I’m at the controls it’s a barebones, seat-of-the-pants production, raw and unsweetened by gimcracks like music or effects, just a chance to eavesdrop on a conversation between two unabashed members of a mutual admiration society as they gush about a great star of the classic Hollywood studio era. Eve’s earlier books have been about Jean Harlow, Theda Bara,Anna Held,Vernon and Irene Castle, John Gilbert, Jayne Mansfield, and Kay Kendall.  You’ll be delighted to hear her insights into the highly dramatic life of Lupe Vélez, which runs the gamut from hilarious to tragic.

Listen to it here.
