I have a schedule.
Like I said before, work is a blessing, and I know that there are not a lot of people who agree with me on this one. I think it has to do with a number of reasons for me though, mainly being that it has been 10 months since I have worked 🙂
Last night I taught from 3:00-9:00pm. I have six different classes and all different ages ranging from 8-23 years old. With such a big age difference it will keep me on my toes.
I also got nervous as I was standing at the front of the classroom and writing on the board to explain some things. It has been a very long time since I have written and not had an automatic spell check. “Uh oh”, I thought. I forgot how to spell 5th. I wasn’t thinking straight and of course second guessed myself. I wrote “fifth” on the board, but than quietly stared at it thinking, “oh crap, that isn’t right… hmm, I wonder if they will notice?”. I tried writing “fith” and then I knew I had to be right or closer the first time. I moved on confidently assuming since I was teaching them the word and they were 10, probably it could slip under the radar. It worked, no one said anything and then I realized that it was right but from then on all I could do was second guess everything else I wrote. (Deep breath, sigh)
Okay, so besides needing to make sure I don’t make these kids “stupider” (more stupid to be correct), I really like my job. I like the English language and I am proud to be teaching such a useful language to these adorable Greeks.
I have today (Tuesday) and tomorrow off this week, and then I think my schedule will change to working Mon-Fri in the evenings and not Saturdays!
Just wanted to pass along that things are going good! Thank you for your continued prayers.
