How to Use a Flat Compass
Hi friends, the other day a viewer asked me if I would make a tutorial on how to use the little plastic flat compasses that they see me use in videos often. I thought that was a great idea! This inexpensive tool is great for artists because they are cheap, small, and useful and there are no sharp point bits to stab through your paper or pencil pouch. They are also much safer for kids to use. Without further ado, here is how to use a flat compass.
I mentioned in the video I bought a pack of flat compasses and I like having the extras to stash in my travel art kits and various desks around the house. I didn’t realize when I bought these that they had letters on them instead of measurements. The blue ones have letters and the orange ones have the measurements. Apparently, the ones I have use letters they can be used on standardized tests. Given the choice I would get the version with measurements so you will know the size of the circle you will make without having to measure with a ruler. I think they are a couple dollars more but knowing what I know now I would get the ones with measurements but I would probably still get the bulk pack because they are so dang handy. You can get a singe flat compass with the measurements if you are a normal person and not a art supply maximalist like me though LOL! I hope you found this helpful and til next time happy crafting!
